Senior Systems Administrator

Our client is a leading FinTech group of companies. We are recruiting on their behalf for a System Administrator / IT Support to provide the daily operational needs of their customers and the administrative needs of the development team.

As part of the help desk the successful candidate will be responsible for managing tickets via the ticketing request system, JIRA. In support of the IT team you should be able to monitor the overall infrastructure operational health and implement any infrastructure improvements or repairs

Job Description

  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
  • Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
  • Review Application Logs
  • Manage monitoring systems
  • Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation
  • Interact with customers and staff at the technical level, as required

Required Skills & Experience

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • Excellent command of the English language. Greek and / or Russian is an advantage
  • 3 – 5 years managing servers network administration, or system administration
  • Solid knowledge of MS SQL databases and DataBase high availability and replication technologies
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Active Directory
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, Hyper – V, or equivalent
  • Experience with Cloud platforms like Azure and Amazon AWS
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Sound knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Active Directory
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools
  • Ability to respond to help desk requests after hours on a limited basis as well as occasional weekend maintenance
  • System administration and IT certifications, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
